Not ranked: combinations have no published studies of their own. See the components below.
A PubMed search found no published studies of this combination; only reviews mention it. Semax and Selank each have clinical studies from Russia, where both are approved.
Tiers rate the strength of published evidence — not effectiveness, safety, or a recommendation.

Overview
A cognitive-anxiolytic nasal blend combining the nootropic Semax with the anxiolytic Selank for simultaneous cognitive enhancement and stress reduction.
Research status Both approved individually in Russia; no published studies of the combination; evidence comes from separate Russian clinical studies of each component
Mechanism
This blend combines complementary nootropic and anxiolytic mechanisms: Semax (ACTH 4-10 analog) upregulates BDNF/NGF expression and enhances dopaminergic and serotonergic neurotransmission for cognition, while Selank (tuftsin analog) allosterically potentiates GABA-A receptor activity and modulates serotonin metabolism for anxiolysis without sedation.
Effects reported in research
These outcomes are attributed to the individual components. The combination itself has not been studied.
- Enhanced focus and cognitive performance
- Reduced anxiety and stress response
- Increased BDNF and neurotrophic support
- Improved emotional regulation
Safety & unknowns
Both components are individually approved in Russia with clinical safety records. No sedation, dependency, or withdrawal effects reported. Combination widely used in nootropic communities. Minimal side effects reported. Not FDA-approved in the US. Intranasal delivery is well-tolerated.
Unknowns. The combination itself has not been studied; interactions between its components are unknown.

Studies [2]
- Clinical trial 2018
[The efficacy of semax in the tretament of patients at different stages of ischemic stroke]
Russian clinical study of the Semax component in 110 patients after ischemic stroke, reporting higher plasma BDNF and faster motor and functional recovery with Semax and early rehabilitation.
- Clinical trial 2008
[Efficacy and possible mechanisms of action of a new peptide anxiolytic selank in the therapy of generalized anxiety disorders and neurasthenia]
Comparative trial of the Selank component versus medazepam in 62 patients with generalized anxiety disorder or neurasthenia; both drugs had similar anxiolytic effects.
